The first and most crucial part of any strategy is to have an education strategy. What, you though I was going to tell you exactly how much to bet, or what cards to play straight up? Well, you need to change you mindset right now and change the way you think. The way you think is that you can afford to lose, and that you are going to win.

You can afford to call an all-in bet then and there, because you aren’t in the position to do otherwise. You can afford to call because your opponent won’t scare you away with a big bet, and an all-in could potentially bring both of you down.

The second step to creating an unbeatable strategy is to identify the hands you can’t beat. And then you have to be aware of what your opponent thinks about those hands so you know if and how to play them.

Some of the most important hands to not let fall into this category are big pocket pairs, like Ace King, Ace Queen and Ace Jack. If you got dealt these and you are faced with an aggressive player… they’re not technically all that strong. If someone says you’re flopping a royal flush, you need to be able to respond to that fairly promptly.

Some other hands that this rule wouldn’t cover, are cards like Q-7, or J-2. The thinking behind these cards is that, even if the next card on the flop is an Ace, there is still a good chance someone else hit 2 pair or a better one. These are the cards that could make your mediocre hand into something strong.

The third step to unbeatable strategy is to learn what to do with all of the money that is not important to the game. What are your bankrolls? What are the buy-in costs of tournaments you plan to depo 20 bonus 30 to 5x? How much are you willing to spend for a single tournament, and what are you expecting to win? Do you have any idea how much you are going to spend in a tournament?

The buy-in costs and the amount you are willing to spend are the two most important decisions you have to make. Do you have a bankroll that can support the costs, or are you planning to use your bankroll as tournament chips?

Basically, if you don’t have a very big bankroll and you think you can buy in without it, don’t play. Don’t compete with an opponent who has a very big stack, because chances are you’ll lose very easily.

If you do have a big bankroll and you know that you can still play tournament style poker, but you want to end up with some money in the pot after the hand is over, you can play a short stack.

A short stack is someone who has less than 30 big blinds. Normally a player would buy-in with 100 times the big blind. For example, if the big blind is 100, you would need to have 3000 chips on a side that is. That’s for the blinds and all the Ante bets.

Once you have your blinds and antes, you want to make a pre-flop raise of 3 or 4 times the big blind. Once that happens, call the raise or re-raise. The more you push the more you will win as other players have to act.

If another player re-raises and you have a good hand, like a high pair, you should probably call, unless you are in early position. If you act before a flop from early position, you will often have to fold if the player in early position makes a bet before you have the chance to act, unless you have a very big hand.

In middle to late position, you can call, but it will be easier to make a hand with a good kicker if you have something like suited connectors, two premium cards, or better, like a Jack, Queen, or King.
